PARTNER nr.4

Gölbaşı Sağlık Meslek Lisesi

Golbasi Saglik Meslek Lisesi was founded in 1989.It is located in Golbasi, which is a semi-rural area and nearly 20 kms away from Ankara centrum. It is not a very big school. There are two departments. They are nursing and emergent heal technician departments. There are eight classes and 217 students with 30 teachers. When students are in primary schools they have to take exams and then they are placed in secondary schools according to their exam results and they are trained for four years at our school.

The first two years they are trained theoretically and last two years they are trained both theoretically and practically. They do their practical training in either public or private hospitals. Our school is the only vocational health secondary school in Golbasi. Therefore the students come from various parts of Ankara and also there are nearly 50 percent of students who come from rural parts or villages of Golbasi. The socio-economical level of these students are very low. Students and parents prefer our school because when they graduate from our school, they find jobs easily in their profession or if they want ,they go on university education.

There are some problems with the pysical condition of the school building. For this reason, this summer our school will be moved to a new and big building.
This project will help our students learn about European dimension of health education
It will motivate students and teachers to interact with other cultures.

PARTNER nr.3

Colegiul Tehnic Danubiana Roman is situated in a small town, responds to the requirements of youth’s social and professional development by offering a high quality training especially in the field of services, informatics, food industry, by promoting standards and ideals focused on cultivating respect to values such as democracy, freedom, truth and respect to institutions and fellows. Our topics for courses are: food industry, economics, protection of environment, tourism, informatics, textile industry. There are 1600 students from different levels who are attending to the school: kindergarden, primary school, secondary school.

However, about 30 percent of the children studying here are at risk of social exclusion for various reasons:
  • 1. They spring from disorganised families and live only with a single parent, who, very often, is unemployed and their main problem is abandoning school.
  • 2. They are obliged to live with relatives because their parents work in foreign countries for a better living, which makes them suffer.
  • 3. A number of pupils have to stay longer at school because their parents work overtime and cannot look after them.
  • 4. There are also a number of Romani pupils, who are not supported and encouraged by their families to come to school.

Our school would have an important role in the project because we could share with our partners the experience that we have and also learn from them other ways of solving or at least dealing with this kind of problems.
Our motivation for joining a project is because we are interested in the topic and it is a good way to share experience with people from other cultural areas. The topic of the project and the choice of activities is the result of observations and analysis of children’s needs.

        PARTNER nr.2

ISTITUTO PROFESSIONALE PER I SERVIZI SOCIALI

The Istituto Professionale per i Servizi Sociali was founded in Salerno in 1963 with the name “Istituto Professionale Femminile”, in 1991 it changed name and training specialities acquiring a new and modern profile.
It is located in a part of the town characterized by a series of  emergencies related to its social, economic and cultural situation. The town, in fact, is undergoing a complete renovation as a result of the change of the economic direction of the area.
The students who attend our school come from the whole province and most of them commute daily from  small towns and villages surrounding Salerno because our didactic plan is almost unique in the region.
The study activities of our school aim at creating  trained personnel to be employed in the social, educational and cultural services, by working with people of different ages, by contributing to the development of individual potentialities, by aiming at the integration of disabled people and wherever  a social community rises and develops.
Unfortunately the majority of our students lack study abilities and techniques, come from a culturally deprived environment and families, do not foster cultural improvement and are at risk of social exclusion also because of poor communication abilities,  insufficient mastery of the mother language and a related scarse vocabulary.
As a consequence  the main  goal of our school is firstly to help our students’ integration and participation in society and secondly train them to help other people in the same process, to reach the same goals.

        Coordinator

LUDUS SANCTIUS SL CENTRE D'ESTUDIS JOAN MARAGALL

Joan Maragall Secondary School was founded in 1974. It is located in the Badalona's Progres quarter. This neighborhood is born and grows as a result of the industrialization of the city, in the second half of the nineteenth century and is undergoing a thorough renovation, as a direct result of the change in economic orientation of the city.

The students of our center is varied and comes from all quarters of Badalona and the nearby towns, because some of the training specialties we offer are not given to any other school in the city.

Students arriving have some shortcomings in its student profile, mainly because:
        • They have completed high school required irregularly.
        • They have studied high school without positive results.
        • From 4 years ago, many elderly people have been enrolled in the study. These people come from work, but they do not have much time to devote to studies.
        This involves:
        • Lack of study habits and techniques.
        • Difficulties in understanding and the ability to make inferences and relationships.
        • Cultural environment scarce. The families do not foster the cultural environment.
        • Poverty of language and vocabulary and spelling mistakes.
        • Lack of relevant values.

Evaluation Board proposes to improve student performance through an interdisciplinary proposal approved by teachers and school council. We will work together to achieve the general objectives and individually objectives for each teacher to his subject.

The main goals of our school are:
        • To train people for their integration and active participation in society.
        • Target students in their professional path.
        • To train people who develop their work according to their interests and aptitudes.
        • Aroused the interest of students in career and look to continue his education in other European countries.
For all this, the school has established a quality system based on ISO-9001 with the aim of establishing the general guidelines of the system of quality management, describing how the system is referenced, providing ongoing consultation service to all staff to assist in the implementation, maintenance and improvement.
